Cowboys amaze me!

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Watching cowboys work is addicting to me. I love the friendships they have with one another. How they work as a collective team, even if they don’t know each other, and how quickly they move when someone is in danger or someone needs a hand with something. Many cowboys can’t run, or if they do, get the video camera ready. One cowboy I dated told me he didn’t walk, he rides his horse. Even getting him to go 20 yards to the bridge to share some wine, was tough. Once he was there he was fine, but geez!

There is one cowboy Zach that is my favorite as far as lending a hand.

Zach

He’s fast for a cowboy too. He’s doesn’t seem afraid of anything, he’ll get right in there when there’s some situation about to get real western.

This was a great branding with great cowboys! Great gear too! One cowboy named Rick had a great handle bar moustache.

This photo though reminds me of another cowboy named Beau. Beau is loved by everyone. He’s a big cowboy and funny as hell. This next photo is of Beau “motorcyclin” Rick. I loved what Beau called it. “motorcyclin” How funny!

Rick can’t do a thing, because he’s holding a calf. I was told Rick doesn’t like anyone to touch his moustache, but he let me feel it and he had no choice with Beau. I’m just getting to know Beau. He’s a wild one! I love his humor!

The day was wonderful there in Pueblo. I put on sunscreen about 5 times during the day. I can’t handle wearing long sleeve shirts like all the cowboys. I sweat too much. Not that they don’t, maybe they just don’t care………..they are men, right?

There was a great lunch afterwards at an Italian restaurant. I sat with one of the Wollert’s at lunch and we had a good time. I barely ate any of my meal.

Thanks to my wonderful friend Juan, I met a bottle of Casa Noble the night before.  Casa Noble, meet Frankie Wilson.

http://www.casanoble.com/singlebarrel.html

It was love at first sip. I’m freakin ruined now. Thanks Juan! It seriously is the BEST Tequila I’ve had to date! It was way too smooth and Juan kept pouring. I’m not even sure how much I had, but I tried to keep it to a reasonable amount. It sprinkled a bit at his place, and the air was edible.

I didn’t get much sleep, maybe 3 hours? Juan was so sweet to fix breakfast for me. Pancakes, which I love, except my stomch was having nothing of it. I’m a light weight when it come to alcohol. I don’t mind it, I just didn’t know how much I had that night. Usually I’m more aware, but we were talking and I was working on photo stuff until 12 that night.

I love you Juan. Good luck with the novias! Thank you for letting me stay at your place.

After the branding I went on another adventure. I decided to get more photos since I was down in that area. I sort of get lost. I always carry my topo map, but I just go explore. This is one of the roads I headed down.

I wanted to go see how green Westcliffe was. It was green, alright. I just had such a wonderful day.

I have a bunch more photos but I have to watermark them and I’m too lazy right now. I sort of have a day off, but I could be sooooooo busy with work. I need to get making greeting cards.

Cowboys, Wireless Internet, and a 3 day post

Monday, May 11th, 2009

You have to love wireless!

Here I am sitting in the Chek Inn in Lamar. A nice quiet little spot in the heart of downtown Lamar. That’s sort of a joke. Lamar has a tiny downtown. I asked for a quiet room, since I need all the sleep I can get. My wonderful friend Walter decided he wanted me to have a room in town, but I have to say him being generous really is more than nice. He has such a big heart. I love you Walter. Thank you so much for what you do for me. He pitched in for the room.

I get so damn excited about going to a ranch to do photography, that I seriously don’t think I slept one minute last night. I dragged my buttocks out of bed at 4 and took a quick shower. I got out the door and one the road by 4:20 or so.

I wanted to get to the ranch early and get in the gather part of the day. Wasn’t going to happen though. I didn’t estimate my time correctly getting there and was about an hour late. Crap!

Getting to this place……I have to give Kelly credit for giving me detailed directions. It isn’t an easy ranch to find. I arrived not knowiing if I would know one person. I saw some familiar faces, which is always welcoming, even if they didn’t remember me. There were several people attening and lots of little kids running around having fun.

Denver had rain in the forecast. I’m not sure what it did up there though. Lamar was beautiful. I was driving in overcast skies getting there and then once I got there it seemed like it was really nice and warm.

Most of the guys working were younger than me. I saw Art who is quite the charcter. I love this guy. I have to post a photo of him that depicts his true character.

Art eating a calf nut...Yuck

This is the third one I got photos of. Art is quite the character. We get along well. He is always joking around and entertaining the crowd. Art is 100% cowboy. He has a foreign exchange student living with him. That kid will never be the same. He is from Paris, France and here he was out there with the best of them. He looked like he knew what he was doing too. That was his third branding yesterday.

I feel like I have a perma smile whenever I am around this work. I can’t express in writing what this work does to me and for me. I could never get sick of it. Never!

I have to say the people there were amazing. Very nice people. Lots of young boys and older folks. What a crew too. I’m not sure how many head they did yesterday, but I heard one figure of 600. I missed that first gather, and the second one happened so quick that I didn’t get the ATV all set up. Dang! That is my favorite part of the whole day, is the gather part.

I have to also add a photo of this young guy who had the most unusual eye color. The photo does NOT do him justice, as far as color, but they were almost like turquoise.

Here is the photo of him.

Turquoise Cowboy

I had the best of times. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy doing what I do. My passion grows only stronger every chance I get to work around ranches and cattle.

It’s Sunday now and I just got home a bit ago. I am soooooooooooo wiped out. I give it my all when I work. I work when everyone takes breaks. I work when everyone is eating. I had a few crackers and a snickers for lunch and some Gatorade to quench my thirst.

I met so many new people. I loved how they are so nice to me. This was a branding that had more people than I’m use to.

Branding at the Ponderosa

I wanted to show a photo of how busy it was. There are a total of six branding “stations”. In this photo you can see 2 calves being worked on in the foreground. The guy in the red shirt takes care of the head on the 2 front feet. The guy in the back has a tough job too. He has to control the kicking hind legs, which can do major damage, and he makes sure the calf won’t be getting up during castration and branding. It can be a hell of a job. If you look close at the photo you can see the lady in the white/blue plaid shirt, next to the cowboy at the calves head in the red shirt. She is giving vaccinations. Women mostly do this job. There is one more girl next to the second calf down. She has chinks on (a style of chaps)  on. She also does vaccinations. At the second calf there is a guy bending over next to her. He is going to do the castration. For a bull there are at least up to 7 people to get the bull to a steer. You have the roper, who ropes the calf and drags them to the branding area. The castrater guy/or girl if it was my daughter, does his thing and hands the nuts to someone else to take care of. The vaccination lady does her thing. The flankers do their job, and 2 guys brand at the same time. There is also a person who will tag ears. The tags make sure that the babies match up with their right momma. They also provide a way for the rancher to identify the cow for several reasons.  You would think the calf being worked on is the most important animal in the world. It’s quick and to the point, done in a couple of minutes. I think my daughter castrates better than some men for sure.

Now for the BEST news!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s sort of a long story.

Now it’s Monday morning. I don’t think I have written a 3 day post before. On Sunday morning though, I had heard I was going to watch some “A. I’n” (Artificial Insemination) Not my favorite thing to watch. Actually it’s the closest I’ve come to hurling. I haven’t seen any women do A. I., but one the other hand it seems like the thing a guy would LOVE! I know one cowboy who had a sort of love for his calves. He would say ” I made those calves” Ewww! Just the thought in my mind was wrong. I know what he meant.

So anyway, the A.I’n didn’t happen, so Kelly and I went and checked on some mommas and babies. That was fun. While we were doing that Shelia and her sone Tell. They had to seperate some cattle in pens, while we were out doing our thing.  We all met up a bit later and Sheila got in the truck with Kelly and I. They decided to give me some sort of little tour. First we went and checked to see if one of Kelly’s friend was around. I guess his friend trains cutting horses and has had lots of success. We got there and drove around his property to look for him. His car wasn’t there but when we got back around to the front of the house, this young man comes walking out. He told us the best story. He was extremely cute! Sheila noticed a shiner he had below his left eye. He just woke up to after a long night. His story was great! Here’s a photo of Levi.

One Punch Levi

One Punch Levi

His shiner is a bit tough to see here while he’s smiling. Here is the story as I remember it.

He and Tell (Sheila and Kellys son) went out drinking to the Opal Bar. I haven’t been to that bar. As they were there some guy who knows Tell, but thought he was a different person came up and clocked him. I don’t know if he got hurt. I didn’t see any injuries on him though. Remember, Levi is telling us this story. I might have some of the details wrong. It could be two bars involved.

After Tell got punched Levi was talking to a large woman. I don’t know if he knew her already. She was there with her 2 guy friends. I guess Levi didn’t want to talk to her anymore or something. I can’t remember the reason she hit him really hard upside his head. This girls friends thought that it was Levi who had hit her or started some ruckus. They came over to Levi and asked him if that is what happened and got all in Levi’s face about it. Levi told him to back down or he was going to punch the guy. The guy didn’t back down and the other guy came over too. He hit the one first and knocked him out and the second guy comes over and he knocks him out too. The one line I loved was that he was amazed that the owner of the bar, and he named who he was let him fight in the bar. I started laughing. Then it just got better. The guy who had punched tell was someone they both knew and I believed liked. Levi went up to him and asked him if he punched Levi. The kid said yes and Levi told him “I suggest that if you don’t want me to knock the shit out of you for punching my friend Tell, you go over and punch (this other kid Tell and Levi don’t like) that guy and make it good”. The boy shrugged his shoulders and took a deep breath and walked over and cold cocked the guy.

He got word later that the boys wanted to fight him again outside the “Cow Palace” Yes, that’s right the Cow Palace!!! It’s a hotel/bar and restaurant. I have my own good story about that place, but I won’t go into it now.

So, Levi goes down to the Cow Palace and knocks both them out cold again.

That’s the end of that story. You might have had to be there, but for me….I was getting a kick out of hearing this strapping young man could do some heavy damage and his humor in doing so was so dang funny. This was the first part to a wonderful day.

Whenever I am around ranchers I always talk about how single I am and how much I want to marry a gret guy who ranches. Sheila started thinking and right away came up with this one gentleman who had great qualities. He is super nice, really good looking, a GREAT cook and lives, where else, on a ranch! Sweet!!!!!

Kelly had nice things to say about him as well. I love how the women are looking out for me. When I told the owner of the Ponderosa I was single, he said well you have about 8 guys you could pick from today. I looked at him and said, “Sure, but I think they all might be in their 20’s still”. He turned to me and replied, “Oh hell, that’s alright”. Not for me it isn’t, but they are nice to look at.

While Kelly and Sheila were talking this guy up that they thought would be good, Sheila said that maybe we should go over there so I could meet him. Wouldn’t you know, he lives a few miles away from the ER doctor. He lives out by Hasty. Wouldn’t you know!

Well, the two of them talked and talked about him. I was already in lust, just hearing how great he is.Kelly had to head back to the house and get ready to go feed at the feed lot, or something like that. He dropped Shelia and myself off at the house and got this huge feeder thing and went off to go feed. Kelly is so cute. While he was out Sheila and I had some tea. The phone rang and it’s Ty. Yes, my dream came true. I cowboy named Ty! I didn’t know it was him though. Sheila was just chatting away talking about how “we” were sitting around drinking tea. I was wondering who would know about me.

It was “him”!!! Kelly had called Ty to tell him, whatever he wanted to tell him. Knowing Kelly it was a lie. He more than likely told him I was some stripper or something. I guess Ty liked what he heard because he called right away. Nice.  : )

He was trying to figure out when we all could meet. He had some guy coming over to look at some cattle. Cattle???? He’s a rancher??? Yes, sort of. I guess he was disabled in some way when serving out great country. He is on disability, which keeps him involved on some level.

Sheila had planned lunch with her two boys and Kelly. I wasn’t in the plan then.

Kelly came back from feeding and we pretty much loaded up in the truck and drive over to Ty’s place. We drove toward Hasty. We turn and head down a little dirt road. It crosses over the Arkansas River and turns eventually into his family homestead. It’s beautiful! An old rock beet house barely stands upright at the entrance. The driveway turns toward his home. Big trees, green grass, and a beautiful home.

There he was! WOW! Good looking big strapping cowboy. He looks like a gorgeous football player. Mmm! Big built, not fat. Maybe 6 feet tall. Short hair…..maybe a buzz that is growing out?? Holy crap! He starts in on the whole cooking thing, and I about had to cross my legs. Geez! A man that can cook does more for me than he could imagine. It’s the straight line aphrodisiac for me. It works too. Why? I don’t know. I can’t explain. But it does work!

He asked me a few questions. I can’t even remember since I was so shy. He handed everyone a beer, including me. I have not blogged about this I think, but I am soooo allergic to beer. Hospital visit. Hops and me don’t mix!

Sheila asked him to come to lunch with us. He had to show these cattle and then he would come into town and eat lunch. Cool! I would get to see him again. Nice!

We went to a little Mexican restaurant in Lamar. Levi, Tell, Will, Kelly, Shelia, myself, and Kelly took a big table and saved a spot for Ty, next to me. While we were eating in walks Festis. I don’t know his real name, but that’s what Kelly calls him. He came and sat next to me. Ty didn’t come in until we were all finished with our lunch. We all chatted. He seemed interested, but I can’t read men to well sometimes.

He was asking if I would be in town for the evening. GOD! I was, I was going to be in town!!!!!! He asked when I would be back up. I will be there on Friday and Saturday. I might go down on Thursday night. I can’t afford it by all means, but this is more important than money to me. Not to hang with Ty, but my photography work is a serious but fun job for me.

After lunch we chatted for a brief moment. He wanted to see if I was going to be at this 3 day branding down on a big ranch outside of Pueblo. It’s a camping deal. Yikes! Food will be an issue, I don’t like that feeling.

It might work out well for Frankie. I love when I can look like I did, and a guy still seems interested. I LOVE IT!!!!!! I had barely had 6 hours of sleep in 2 nights. I was so tired! My hair was in pig tails, I had no makeup on, a major sunburn that Shelby says, ” looks ridiculous”. Mostly my nose. Nice! Oh well, he still seemed like I might have a chance. I have to say I’m totally smitten. Time will tell. I wish he had my phone number, but I guess I will be seeing him on Friday. I hope so anyway.

Friday and Saturday night I get to stay on a beautiful ranch on a large lake or a some lake nearby. I get my own little cabin too. I heard it’s super nice. The rancher that offered his place is a real big, totally nice guy. he was very sweet to offer that. I met him on Saturday at the Ponderosa. His name is John. Saturday, Kelly is having his branding. I’m not sure if Ty will be able to be at these, but at least he is aware I’ll be in town.

Can you believe how long this blog was. A 3 day blog.

Date Night with a Mountain Man

Monday, April 27th, 2009

I actually had a date with a city guy last night. He’s a mountain man really. Seems like a nice guy. He’s younger than me, has a 5 year old daughter and a good job. He has an IT job for a banking company. He qualifies in many ways. I like that he is really manly. He hunts, fishes, plays racquetball, has a cabin on a river in the mountains, but Antero Reservoir up in the mountains.

I put what I have learned from reading “Act Like a Woman, Think Like a Man” to test. He didn’t get high marks on a few things. Like for instance: I’m a country girl who hates the city. He is a city boy who gets out to the country evey once in a while. I wanted to give him control over the decision of where and what we would do on our date. He lives up by Broomfield. I thought maybe Goldan would be fun. He picked his favorite bar in Denver, The Cruise Room in the Oxford Hotel. I met him down there. He was waiting in a booth with his back to me. I walked up to him and tickled his neck. We had great conversation, and a wonderful meal.

We made the date last a little more than a couple of hours. I really like how smart he is. The part that I don’t like is,f I think he might be a bit of a 1-900 guy. After we made it to our homes, I decided to check my hotmail account and my Match.com account. He was on and wanted me to get on Yahoo IM to chat. It went from nice chat to pretty dang sexual chat in minutes. I know it’s been a long time for me and it seems for him too. Sure, I would love to have a boyfriend and someone to share those special moments. I’m really not the 1-900 girl though. He might have to look for someone else for that.

He likes to fish? He likes to catch and release kind of guy. I think that might be him MO. I want to be a keeper. I think it won’t be me.

Tomorrow I will send the letter to the rancher up in Wyoming and see what happens there.

The saga continues

How do I disguise myself?

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

I find having a blog can cause more problems for me than I like to have. I want a different name. I need a stage name. I will have to come up with a cool one. My sister Kristi had a stage name in her punk rock band back in the day. Her name was Vicki Slit. Maybe I’ll steal part of that. I could be Sasha Slit. That would just bring me more trouble than I already have. I’ll never get a boyfriend with one of these. How can I be talking about some other guys when you’ve got some guy you like getting ready to find out your name and then it’s all over after that. Google my name, and you got me. I am just myself though, so what do I need to hide, I guess?

I just started talking to a guy on Match.com and I actually like him, which is my first flaw. It usually doesn’t work out well for me. We are having a first date tomorrow. I think its funny how he picked a bar downtown to meet up at. It’s his favorite bar ever! The Cruise Room. I’ve been in there years ago. Nothing special to me, but that is what he wants to do. See, just talking about this stuff could get me in deep doo-doo if he read that. I really don’t expect him to, but it could happen.

I put the date in his lap. I thought he would pick something a bit different since he knows I’m not a city girl. Getting me in downtown Denver is like a cat being thrown in a bathtub. I will have fun, but I would have much more fun out of downtown. I hate downtown! It get a bit of claustrophobia. I’ll live though.

He is pretty funny. I hope we have a good time, but I’m not holding my breath.

I didn’t get the ranchers letter in the mail yet. Bad Frankie! I hope to do at least get it all written up tomorrow. My date is tomorrow night.

Work was super slow this week, which is never good. I just try not to freak and keep on going. Freaking does no good at all. Ya know? I just enjoy the day and tuck the bad stuff away. Why let it ruin my day? There is nothing I can do about having a crappy week, except hope I’m busier next week.

I’m so tired. I need sleep. I’ve already been up 20 hours. ick!

MMA and My Friends

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

I know it might be sick of me to love MMA so much. I do though! I LOVE IT! Right now I’m watching the best fights of WEC 2008. I just so happen to turn it on and get to see Cerrone, who is a Colorado “Cowboy” and McClullough. Great fight. Cowboy wins too! Pummels the poor guy. I really enjoy watching Cerrone.

I just got back from  going out with one of my girlfriends, whom I’ve know since she was a little kid basically. Sammy is fun and danger all rolled into one. She is much younger than me and I have known her and her family for years. She was my last client today and we went over to Hanson’s for some Petron. That is wicked stuff. She humored me and had some with me.

It’s her birthday this weekend and she is having a big party. A dinner party at a really nice place in downtown Denver and then a private party at a really nice place, held somewhere else. I don’t know how she will get through the night very well.

Sammy’s brother is one of the most awesome people I have ever met. I think I have blogged about him before. He is studying to be an archaeologist. He is very much into American Indian artifacts. That guy can find an arrowhead just about anywhere. He has a gift. I swear! It’s crazy the points he can find and no one else will see them. I would love to do a sweat lodge with him sometime.

He has had the same girlfriend now for 9 years. That is a long time for a young guy like him. I think he is 26 now. I think? I just love him. He is really smart and will travel the world, I’m sure of it. He has already had some cool trips.

Becky, is Sammy and this guys momma. Becky is really cool too. The’re just a cool family. Get this???? The father of this family use to work with the motocross doc I know. What are the chances.

I can’t believe how late it is…..I have to get to sleep. I swear I will write more tomorrow. I have been a major slacker.

Horses and the Stock Show

Friday, January 16th, 2009

I had a great day today. It’s always nice to get a haircut. Evelyn cut everything that needed to come off and then some. I took off 3 inches. My hair was so long, I couldn’t really tell other than my hair felt really good. I’m not really attached to my hair when it gets that long. My hair is naturally straight, but I like to wear it curly. I get a lot more compliments when I wear it straight though. It sure saves a ton of time for me to wear it straight.

One of my newer clients came in today. His name is Andrew. We get along very well. He is sort of country boy.  His family raises Belgian draft horses out in Platteville, which is one of my most favorite areas in Colorado. Platteville sits along the South Platte River here in Colorado. Beautiful land and some really nice ranches in that area. He father might need some photos of horses taken. I would love to have that job!

I also saw Chef Love today. I love him. He is so much like a brother to me. We have great conversations. I went to his house to visit him. He was working on a mosic yin/yang symbol. Very cool! His is getting into some cool stuff in his life and wanted to share it with me. I love his ADD too. He is riddled with it, but I like that about him.

I need to get to bed since I have to be into work real early. The weather is going to be so nice here in Denver with highs in the 60’s. I might have to go for a motorcycle ride. That would feel great and I think the bike would like that too.

Can’t get enough!

Friday, January 9th, 2009

I had a great day today! Most of my days are great anyway, but today was exceptional.

I worked some and then when I had a break I went down to the Stock Show to get my cool badge to get in any time, and to see if Jerry was around. I called him when I was there, but he was already back at his hotel room. I decided to go to the Mexican Rodeo practice which started at 7pm. I got there early, and when I walked in I must have been the only white girl in there. Jerry somehow picked me out of the small crowd. I chatted with him a bit and met his friend John. John is Jerry’s assistant. I also met Jill, another helper, sort of behind the scenes,  Eli, a cowboy, and Stacy, who is Jerry’s wife.

I have to say this is a great bunch of people from what I can tell. I had a BLAST! I got to see how everything works. It was really amazing! It really was! It starts out with the most awesome Mariachi band that Jerry brings up from San Antonio. They sounded so good. Great singers too. I was really impressed just with that alone. The dancers with the cool dresses did a bit of dancing during the opening ceremony. I know I’m going to repeat how much I really liked things, but it’s true. There is a Side Saddle Equestrain Team, which John whispered “they ride better than most of the guys”. They do all sorts of really cool precision moves….very cool! The charros are introduced.  I loved his voice! I had to whistle for him when he was finished. There were certain things that were just talked about, like the bulls, since they aren’t in the practice part. I have to say I think my favorite part will be watching Jerry and his wife perform. I love how his horses look. The Azteca’s are my favorite horse. Jerry was riding in the areana and his horse was switching gaits so smoothly. These guys in the Mexican Rodeo are so skilled on a horse. I love watching them. I didn’t take my camera out. I thought that would not be a good idea. I don’t have permission yet, so there is not way I would disrespect Jerry like that, or the Stock Show for that matter.

The theme this year is the next generation. There is a little boy who sang a song so well. I loved his voice! I had to whistle for him when he was finished.

Jerry also has bull fighting, with no killing the bull. These bulls are really nasty bulls too, that make rodeo bulls look like their on downers. I love the Mexican fighting bulls. During the running with the bulls the best and most bad ass bulls are the very last of the bulls to run. It seems like someone files their horns, they are that sharp.

To say the least I am very impressed.

I got to see Roberto Torres. He didn’t remember me. It’s actually been a long time since I have seen him. He is like the grandfather of the Mexican Rodeo. He has his son Junior there too. They sponsor the rodeo. Roberto owns my favorite mexican restaurant in Denver named Las Delicias. Oh Man! That just makes me hungry thinking about that place.

I also met the bull fighter Paco. I’m really looking forward to seeing that. I’d love to get some shots of him in his gear.

I really had a great time. I am not going to be even slightly upset if I can’t shoot the rodeo. I really hope Jerry and I will be working in the future. I’d love to help him with the book he wants to publish, and for that matter, whatever he wants photographed.

I meet Jerry at 9 at his hotel in the morning.  It will be hard for me to sleep. I get so worked up when I’m around that atmosphere. Not like worked up MMA style, but a nice more mellow worked up.

You never know……..maybe Frankie can meet a cool Hispanic cowboy. : )

New Years Eve

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

I have been working today, and in fact I will have to wrap up writing soon, and finish it later tonight.

I heard from my old boyfriend Dan again. He wants to take me out to dinner now and I’ll have his photos for him. I had this dream that he and I were having a relationship, but not the kind that is normal. Ummmm, he was basically paying my bills for me to have sex with him. I think I had that dream because my friend Walter and I had a conversation about me giving him a massage. His back was hurting and…. anyway, I should just stop there. No, I’m not having my bills paid by anyone, it was just a dream. No, it couldn’t be that I have sex either. I have been having wild dreams. I’m crazy when I sleep. There is no telling what might be going on in there. Most of my dreams are good though. I don’t tend to have scary dreams anymore. For awhile in my life that is all I had.

Those were the days when a man attempted to rape me. I got chased to my car. I saw people get mugged. I had gone to the FBI to get a crack house closed. I came eye ball to eye ball with 2 killers and I got to live. Those guys ended up killing several people. I was seriously lucky. I also had a run in with another criminal, I got lucky there too, and the detective even told me that. I have had some crazy things happen to me.

The closest I know I’ve come to death was when a huge part of an old tree fell on the car directly behind me as we were traveling down Lincoln Street, here in Denver. If I had been one second later, I would not be writing this right now. I’m pretty sure the person who was in the car directly behind me died. It fell right on the top of their car. That car hit several cars after that. I was in such shock that I didn’t hit the brakes, gas, nothing. I just coasted down to the light at Speer. One wreck on my Ninja knocked me silly. I pretty much only hit my head, and yes, I always wear my helmet. I couldn’t find my home. I knew the area, but I couldn’t find my house. It was crazy. Not a fun thing! Then a dirt bike accident, but that wasn’t that bad really. I have some lasting pain from it, but nothing bad at all.

Yes, I have had a very colorful time since I moved out of home. I don’t know how I got on this conversation so much, it has nothing to do with New Years Eve huh?

I had been sitting at hime writng this when my friends Kim and Marc called to see if I wanted to go out to dinner. We went to a little nieghborhood restaurant called Pearl Street Grill. They had a band playing that I have actually seen before. They were fun to listen to, but I’m actually glad I’m home pretty early.

I watched some MMA fights. I loved the Griffen vs Faber fight from awhile back. Pretty dang good. Griffen gave Faber a great fight. Griffen would not give up. It was amazing. The kicks that Faber were giving and the left hooks that Faber gave him were brutal. I loved it!!!

I just got out of the bath and thought I was going to listen to some music, but I’m more in the mood to hear how crazy it is out there tonight. So, I tuned into the police and fire scanner online and it really is crazy. Lots of shots being fired right now. Downtown in pretty nuts it sounds like too. Thousands of people. The fireworks have been going off for 10 minutes straight so far.

Shelby called me right at midnight. How sweet! She is so awesome! I love her so much. How can I have the best kid? Seriously? Why me? How did I get so blessed in that area. The most important part of my life is perfect to me. Okay, maybe not perfect, she has some OCD issues. Not extreme, but weird stuff like, stains and even numbers are the good. I don’t get it, but it runs in my family. I think most people have a bit of it in their life. it’s just a matter of controling it, or lack there of.So, she isn’t perfect. Cool!

I love how this scanner works. In my left ear I hear Police and in my right ear is Fire and EMS. Head phones are cool! There are still lots of shots fired calls coming in. Nothing around my area, as far as I can tell. I sure don’t hear anything besides a strong wind blowing.

So, next Wednesday I give Dn his photo and is is taking me out to a nice dinner somewhere or something like that. Hmm? I have to sign all of them and title some of them. They did turn out nice. The door one is really cool that I took up in Victor. I want to go take more photos up there. Shelby is taking photography right now in high school, and not really enjoying it so much. She needs to take some photos over this Christmas break, but she is putting it off. We might go get some graffiti shots down on my favorite building in Denver which is the old Gates Rubber Company building. I love tht building. I don’t know when it’s going to be torn down, but sadly it will be. There is so great graffiti on it though. I think some students from North High got permission to do it. I want to get shots of the building during one of our incredible sunsets which cast a great orange light on the west side of that building. I love that building and will miss it greatly.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Please bring love with the most amazing man, more happiness, romance, adventure, incredible health to me, my daughter, my family, and friends, and the most beautiful ranch to live my life out on. : ) Hey I’m a Pisces….a dreamer!!!!

I need a sweat lodge. Maybe I can stir one up for the next full moon. That would be so awesome.

Work and Fun

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

I had such a good day yesterday. Selling photos to my long ago boyfriend Dan. I found his choices interesting to say the least. He picked some purple flowers, an old sign from San Luis, Colorado… he picked my favorite photo of Cowboy which I totally love. He picked a photo of the 3 riders looking for strays from Valle Vidal in New Mexico, two photos from the Stonewall area of Colorado, and a old store front from Victor, Colorado

I guess the ones I was shocked at were the flower choices and the one from Stonewall that is too brown in my opinion. But hey, who am I to argue what people find interesting and what might work for them. That is why I enjoy taking photos of all sorts of places and things.

He even bought me a really nice lunch at a steakhouse. The crazy story of the day is that he was shot 3 times in the back in 2001 when he was doing some computer work for the Dept. of Homeland Defense, in DC. He was walking on the mall there, which was closed off to the public, and I guess some Aryan Nations guy did a drive by and sprayed whoever was around with bullets. I guess he said the one bullet missed his spine by 2mm. That is close.

Dan was never one to lack in drama, even when I dated him. It sounds like it still follows him. He had the drama filled 12 year relationship with a woman, and has since broken up with her, but talk about drama filled. Geez, with partners like that who needs an enemy.

I can’t wait to get the photos to him and see what he thinks. I should have those pretty soon, if I can get the CD dropped off to my printer.

Christmas will come for me and my daughter. I am going to buy her present right after I finish this blog.

I might get some long over due dirt biking in this weekend. ATV riding too. I think I might head down to Hasty and hang with the guys this weekend. Cook, ride, cook, ride. Those boys can eat!!!!!!!!!

I went up to Woodland Park the other day to see Tucker and John and cook them a nice meal. I also had Shelby and Tuck’s friend to feed also. I loved it.

Today is making my famous cheesecake for my co-worker Evelyn. It’s become a Christmas tradition. I enjoy it too.

Busy day at work on my day off, shopping and a few errands. Fun stuff  though.

My Mind and the Crazy Stuff it Comes Up With

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I have an extremely good imagination, and can come up with very inventive ideas. I was with my daughter, Shelby the other day and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I have an idea of how to make someone millions of dollars, but I have no idea how you get an idea to the final product????

I have contacted a company to tell them that they should talk to me…..I’ll see if they contact me to ask or even seem interested. I can’t tell them what my idea is. I can’t! Shelby was so excited about the idea, that she just kept talking about it and telling me to protect my idea.

It seems so simple, could help scores of people. It is not out in the world yet! I’m sure of that. Now what?

I need to patent the idea first I would think, and then go from there. I have come up with some really cool ideas, and feel that Google will take my idea I gave them for the 10th to the 100th idea search. It’s a totally different idea. Not the one I’m writing about. It will hopefully make the cut and then go up for a vote in January.

I just need to money to protect my ideas, but so far that is not happening. Hmm!

I love my brain, but it needs some sleep too. I have been pretty tired with the time change. I didn’t sleep well last night. Maybe tonight!
